Pit for graine – is a container into which grain is unloaded from vehicles. Automobile backfill pits can accept grain from dump trucks or be equipped with automobile unloaders. Truck unloaders, in turn, can be for rear or side unloading. It is very important that the landfill pit is equipped with an aspiration system, because a large cloud of dust and small volatile impurities is formed during unloading. From the dump pit, with the help of a conveyor, raw materials are fed to the noria.
Pit for graine is a structure made of galvanized sheet steel. Smooth inclined sheets are located at an angle of at least 45 °, which ensures unhindered movement of the flow of grain under the influence of its own weight. The pit can be installed in a pre-prepared concrete pit with vertical walls (underground installation) or on a supporting structure (above-ground installation).
